Our members know the true character of the Fjord Horse. It is the heart and soul of the Fjordings that separate them from all other horse breeds. This page is devoted to those special Fjords that become a part of your family and enrich your life. Members please send in pictures and stories, to share with others. The breeders always love to hear how the offspring from their farms are doing.

The Fjord Fun Fest was held at Neu Century Farms. Parading down main street, timed events and fun classes, and sliding an evaluation conformation clinic in at the end just finished it off nicely. Fun was had by all and we will do it all again next August! Look for it on the Events Page.

Lori Albrough, of Bluebird Lane Fjords, sent some beautiful pictures of her horses. Her website is as professional as any other project she takes on. Be sure to check it out! Prisco is on the left and Kestrel is to the right.

The 2008 Alberta Fjordhorse Fun Fest will be held in Didsbury on August 16-17 in conjunction with the Fair. JOIN US! Grethe Sorensen, jumping Bar Cy's Tucker. Left to right, Greg Neufeld on Jasper, Angela Willberg on Heidi, Alyssa Willberg on Share A Lot, Meredith Simon on Lyn, and Julie Sorensen riding Bergen Selena and her friend, Chayla.
Hello, my name is Sally Maitland and I live in
Kipp and Lucas are Gord Fulton's newest project. They are full brothers that were born and raised on his farm. Gordon and his neighbor, Randy, each have a team. They help each other out and enjoy working the green horses in the Alberta snow.
'Becky' began a new career after her girl, Katie, left for University. After her very successful career in 4-H, I sent her away for 1 month of professional driving training. It wasn't long before she won the Pony Driving Championship at Spruce Meadows. You have to love the 'try' in these Fjords. She always gives 120%. Besides driving, 'Becky' goes western and english, rocks at keyhole, and loves to jump.
The near horse is Claybank's Tug and the off horse is Claybank's Olaf. Brian is all geared up to go on wagon treks, and he has a couple in mind for this summer. He is planning to do a 3 day ride/drive campout in Kamloops, BC the last weekend of May. There is another 5 day wagon trek at Moose Mountain, SK, the first part of July. Keep checking the Events Page for further details...
My experience at the NFHR 25th Anniversary show was not only extremely educational but a lot of fun to boot. I had the pleasure of accompanying Pat Wolfe as a passenger while he was driving Prydarson in the Parade of Nations for the final evening's events. I told Pat that they asked me because they needed a skinny chick to sit on the little seat in front of him. It's a good thing Pat has such an amazing sense of humor and is such a good ambassador for us Canadians.
Great to have a spot to share my story. Red Wing Acre's Norwegian Fjords. Carol Boehm.
