The FJORD HORSE Pedigree Page of the CLRC Website
The Animal Pedigree Act is federal legislation that regulates the keeping of all animal pedigree records in Canada. The breed associations are also incorporated under the same Act, and as such, the CFHA is mandated and obligated to provide a registry for the Fjord Horse in Canada. One of the ways to fulfill that obligation is to use the services of CLRC. When an association uses CLRC services, that association is deemed to be a member association of CLRC.
Member associations of CLRC are responsible for setting the rules of eligibility for their breed and for determining the fees that are to be collected for the various services. CLRC then maintains the registry according to those rules of eligibility and collects the prescribed fees, which are deposited into the CFHA's account. CLRC then charges the association for the costs of processing the work that is handled on behalf of the association. Services are available in both official languages.
